LOWER LINGUAL ARCH

You have just had a lower lingual arch (LLA) placed on your lower arch. This is a special space maintainer that holds your back teeth from moving forward. It can also push against you lower front teeth to create a little more room for your side teeth to come improperly. Here are a few things you want to know about your LLA:.

  • · The LLA will feel strange to your tongue for a few days and it might make your tongue sore. This should get better quickly. If you have a sore that just won’t go away, call the office right away.
  • · Try not to play with the LLA with your tongue. You can bend it or break it. You can change the shape of it so it isn’t doing what we need it to do.
  • If you have any questions or problemswith your LLA before your next appointment, please call us at 368-8348.
